The Sisters

Just a little history about us; yes we are sisters, and there are three of us.  We are old enough for retirement, all married for over forty years, have seven children between the three of us and nine grandchildren, as of now.  We enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking, baking, reading, DIY projects, art and spending time with our families and friends.  Our husbands are all very active in the kitchen so they do deserve some of the credit.   One does most of the weekday cooking,  their granddaughter even asked if grandma does anything!

We want to share our stories, tips, and recipes. Those we learned growing up and some of our own which we have learned though the years. The recipes are tried, tested and enjoyed by our families. We have tried many recipes, some make it into our files and some end up in the trash. We are all  more health conscious now, so our goal is to fix a mixture of both comfort and health smart foods.

Speaking of trash, someones trash is another person's treasure.  We have been known to pick up items along the side of  the road and turn them into spectacular objects. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One sister might call to tell the other there is an old wicker rocker on the side of the road. Soon the other one is off loading it in the car (trying to do it without anyone seeing is impossible). We are the sisters that will see something and say "oh I can make that", but usually this looks easier than it really is.  Another project we keep trying is garden art, making it from old pottery, bowling balls, bird houses, old chairs or something from the side of the road. Some are good, some not so good.

We hope that our recipes and stories can be an inspiration for you and your family, and bring as much enjoyment to your lives as they have ours.
